Ethylene oxide hydrolysis is widely used to manufacture ethylene glycol (MEG). During the manufacturing process, some impurities, such as aldehydes, are produced. Even after several times of rectification, there are still some aldehyde residues in the final MEG product. These aldehyde residues affect the quality and limit the Meg's applications.So that, Suqing Group and Yangzi Petrochemical jointly developed YJ-1 aldehyde removal resin specific for ethylene glycol. On Nov 28 of 2002, YJ-1 passed the new product appraisal presided by Sinopec Co., Ltd. Since then, YJ-1 is widely used by the manufacturers of MEG in China.
YJ-1 Aldehyde removal resin has a very high aldehyde removal efficiency. The Aldehyde removal percentage could be sustained over 90%. The life time of this resin is usually 2-3 years. No regeneration is needed.
